An integrative space for natural medicine, deep listening and healing, where evidence-based care meets the innate intelligence of the body.
Restore the body. Untangle the mind. Nourish daily life.
My journey into healing began far from the city lights, on a remote island off Cape York, living completely off-grid.
We grew our own food, gathered fresh seafood daily, and lived in rhythm with nature. It was here I discovered the true meaning of health, not just the absence of illness, but the presence of vitality, purpose and harmony with the natural world.
Today I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy and a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I’m a registered member of ANTA and PACFA. My approach is integrative, intuitive and grounded in nature-based wisdom, woven through with breathwork, ceremony and plant medicine.
Meet MellyMy journey into healing didn’t begin in a clinic. It began on a remote island off Cape York, living completely off-grid, growing our own food, gathering fresh seafood daily, moving in rhythm with the tides and the seasons. No reception. A few hours of generated power a day. Life was simple, raw, and deeply connected to land and sea. It was there I first understood what health actually means, not the absence of illness, but the presence of vitality, purpose, and harmony with the natural world.
That understanding sent me looking for older knowledge. I travelled to India to immerse myself in yoga, eventually completing a Cert IV in Yoga Teacher Training. Pranayama became a particular passion, for the past ten years I’ve studied breathwork under my teacher Clive Sheridan, across retreats in India and Australia. These practices have shaped my inner life in ways clinical training alone never could, supporting the nervous system, awakening inner awareness, aligning body, mind, and spirit. I still teach yoga and breathwork today, as foundational tools in everything else I do. Alongside this, my Ashtanga practice has deepened my commitment to discipline, devotion, and the integration of breath and movement.
From there, the path led me into formal study, a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy, where I learned to hold traditional plant medicine and evidence-based practice together, rather than choosing between them. I’m a registered member of ANTA, and for over a decade I’ve worked as a naturopath and yoga therapist across private practice, exclusive rehabilitation retreats, and gut health programs, with a particular focus on mental health and digestive health. Out of that work came my signature 10-Day Fasting Program, which I still facilitate today.
But something in me kept asking for more, a way to hold the emotional and spiritual layers of healing with the same rigour I brought to the physical. So I returned to study, completing a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I’m a registered member of PACFA, and I bring a trauma-informed, integrative approach to this work. Alongside my formal training, I hold a Level 2 Reiki certification, and I draw on intuitive, somatic, and ceremonial practices, including plant medicine to support whole-person healing.
My approach is: integrative, intuitive, grounded in nature-based wisdom. I believe healing is both an art and a science, a dance between evidence-based care and the innate intelligence of the body, spirit, and earth. I try to move in rhythm with the moon, the sun, and the turning seasons, and I invite the people I work with to attune to their own natural rhythms in the same way. My work is rooted in ceremony, presence, and deep listening, interwoven with plant medicine, breathwork, and gentle ritual to support deep reconnection.
When I’m not in clinic or running programs, you’ll find me at the pottery wheel (mellymagpie.com), making herbal preparations, painting, travelling, or chasing nature and ocean adventures. My dream has always been to create a vibrant community of health, wealth and happiness rooted in earth-based medicine, creative expression, and the simple joy of being alive.
Each session is a journey into the wisdom of your body, mind and spirit, uncovering the deeper roots of imbalance and gently guiding you back into harmony.
The body speaks in symptoms. Melly listens for the story beneath them, a deep, evidence-informed conversation with your gut, hormones, nervous system, history and cycles.

Naturopathy is natural medicine, a whole-person alternative to conventional pharmaceuticals and one-size-fits-all treatment plans. It’s an opportunity to look at your body physically, mentally, and emotionally, and build real awareness of what might be out of balance or no longer serving you.
I work alongside you to illuminate the areas that need attention, mixing herbal medicine to support your system, guiding your nutrition, and helping shape a diet and lifestyle that restores balance from the inside out.
I meet you where you’re at. Together, we build a deeper understanding of how your body is functioning, listening to your symptoms and supporting you to bring body, mind, and spirit back into alignment.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Naturopathy and over 10 years of experience in the field, I bring together the best of both worlds, balancing evidence-based science with ancient, time-tested ways of healing. I use integrated testing and pathology alongside intuition to develop herbal blends and comprehensive treatment plans that are as rigorous as they are personal.
I’m not a naturopath who chases the latest fads, herbal trends, or “must-have” supplements. I treat you as the unique individual you are, and I meet you exactly where you’re at, listening and exploring your symptoms to guide you toward what’s actually right for your body.
Herbal medicine, made for you. I’m deeply passionate about creating unique herbal blends, never off-the-shelf, always tailored to you. These blends evolve as your body, your cycles, and the seasons change, because healing isn’t static and neither are you.
Food as medicine. I’m equally passionate about the power of whole foods to give your body everything it needs. My focus is on nourishment, on what your body needs and where it’s lacking, rather than on restriction and removal. Real, sustainable health isn’t built on rules; it’s built on giving your body what it’s asking for.
No stress, no shame. I believe in nourishing the body, not driving stress or making you feel like you’re not doing enough. Health should feel like coming home to yourself, not another list of things you’re failing at.
If you want honest, whole-body health support, I’m here to guide you, helping you set achievable goals, build a deeper understanding of your own body, and create sustainable change for long-term wellbeing.
This list isn’t exhaustive, if you’re not sure whether I can help, get in touch.

We do not fix what is broken. We remember what was always whole.
As a holistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer a different form of therapeutic care, one that is compassionate, gentle, and meets you where you’re at. Together we explore your inner self: the patterns that formed to protect you, the stories that shaped you, and the parts of yourself that are asking to be seen and nurtured.
This is a space to pause, to reconnect, and to gently make sense of what feels difficult, overwhelming, or uncertain. In this held and confidential space, nothing is pathologised. Everything is welcomed, the defences, the shadows, the grief, the loops you can’t seem to break. All of it carries intelligence, and all of it is workable.
I offer holistic counselling for individuals, couples, adolescents, and young people, across a wide range of emotional, relational, and existential concerns. As a boutique practice, care is taken to create an environment that feels calm, private, and emotionally safe, every detail, from the space itself to the attunement of the relationship, exists to support trust, comfort, and genuine connection.
I’m here to help you navigate difficult life moments, illuminate behavioural patterns, give you space to grieve, and help you see your own worth and beauty.
We move at your pace. We look at the protections you carry in your world. We work towards sustainable change. I want to lose the therapy-speak and simply meet you exactly where you’re at, removing the stigma around therapy, and seeing it instead as an unfolding conversation toward real, therapeutic change.
There is no manual applied here, no single method repeated session after session. I draw on a rich integration of therapeutic lineages, meeting each person where they are and weaving together what speaks to the mind, the body, the psyche, and the soul.
At the foundation is present-moment awareness, not a technique to be applied, but a way of returning home to yourself, creating the space between stimulus and response, the capacity to observe without being consumed. From there, the work often moves toward psychological flexibility: learning to stop fighting inner experience and instead build a life guided by what truly matters, holding difficulty with openness while taking committed action toward what you value most.
Some of it is alive and relational, attending to what’s happening right now, in the body, in the room, in the space between past experience and present reality, bringing fragmented parts of the self back into integration through honest, embodied contact. Some of it reaches deeper still, into the symbols, dreams, and recurring patterns that speak from the unconscious, shadow work, the inner child, the archetypal threads that weave through a life. This is the slow, courageous work of becoming more fully yourself.
And some of what arises in the room isn’t pathology at all, it’s the natural weight of being a conscious human confronting the great questions: meaning, freedom, mortality, belonging, authenticity. This work doesn’t look away from those questions. It walks toward them, particularly for those navigating identity transitions, spiritual emergence, grief, or the quiet disorientation of feeling untethered from meaning.
Sessions draw on somatic awareness, reflective dialogue, mindfulness practices, and, where it feels right, creative and symbolic exploration. Psychotherapy and counselling can stand alone or be woven into an integrated naturopathic and energetic care plan.
With diet and lifestyle at the core of longevity, health, and happiness, I offer nutritional counselling, looking closely at diet and lifestyle as part of the bigger picture, not in isolation from it. Through counselling, we work together to support your body as you move toward your goals, making dietary and lifestyle changes that are realistic and sustainable. This isn’t about a plan handed down to you, it’s about understanding what your body needs, building habits and awareness that carry you forward, and creating long-term change that lasts well beyond reaching your desired outcome.
For those on weight-loss medications, I provide dedicated support through every stage: while you’re on the medication, through the process of tapering off, and in the stages beyond. For those choosing an alternative to their current medication, or who can’t tolerate it, there’s still real opportunity here to create lasting change. This work often flows into The DEEP Shift, my complete program for sustainable, whole-body transformation, going beyond quick fixes to build the foundations for change that holds.
At the heart of this work is a simple belief: that wholeness was never lost, only forgotten, and clarity emerges not through fixing, but through connection.

Knowing the theory and knowing what to do with it are two different things.
Many naturopaths graduate confident in the science, the pathways, the protocols, the pharmacology, and then meet their first genuinely complex patient and feel that confidence quietly evaporate. This is not a knowledge gap. It’s the missing link between knowing and practising: the ability to translate what you’ve learned into a structured, tailored treatment plan for the person actually in front of you, at the stage of health they’re actually in.
This is what 1:1 mentoring with Melly is for.
These sessions are not built around set protocols, or revisiting theory you’ve already covered. They’re built around your cases, the real, complex, sometimes-messy presentations that don’t match the textbook, and how you think your way through them. Together, we work through the layers of clinical reasoning: what to prioritise, what to test for, how to weave functional and evidence-based approaches into a plan that actually fits the person you’re treating.
The goal isn’t to hand you more answers. It’s to help you build your own process, the structure, clarity, and internal confidence to trust your clinical judgement long after the session ends.
Naturopaths who feel solid in theory but shaky translating it into practice. Recent graduates finding their feet with their first complex cases. Practitioners who want a thinking partner, someone who’s navigated the same clinical uncertainty and can help sharpen your own process, rather than replace it with theirs.

Real transformation doesn’t happen in a single session, it happens over time, with the right support at every stage. This year-long program blends naturopathy, nutrition, health coaching, and holistic counselling to help you get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck, rebuild healthier patterns, and stay accountable to the change you actually want.
Comprehensive assessment. Monthly personalised sessions. A year of steady, guided support, for your body, your mind, and the way you live.
This is a year-long, integrative program designed for people ready to move beyond quick fixes and get to the root of what’s keeping them stuck, physically, mentally, and emotionally. It combines naturopathy, nutrition, health coaching, and holistic counselling into one continuous journey.
Real change, in the body, in patterns, in identity, doesn’t happen in one session or even one month. This program gives your nervous system, your habits, and your health the time they actually need to rewire, rebalance, and hold.
By the end of the year, you’ll have a body that’s been supported at the root, patterns you understand and have shifted, and a way of living that reflects who you’re becoming.
We start by reviewing where you’re at, physically, emotionally, and in relation to the goals we set last time. What’s shifted? What’s come up? What’s felt hard to sustain?
A look at your current symptoms, any physical changes, and how your body is responding to the plan so far. Adjustments are made to nutrition, herbal support, or lifestyle recommendations as needed.
Holistic counselling to explore what’s underneath the habits you’re trying to shift, old beliefs, triggers, or emotional patterns that tend to resurface, especially under stress.
Practical updates to your plan based on what’s realistically working (and what isn’t), never a rigid template, always shaped around your actual life.
We close with clear, doable actions for the month ahead, and a way to track progress so change stays visible, not just felt, but seen.
Old patterns don’t shift in isolation, they need consistent support to actually change. This program is built as a continuous thread, so each session builds on the last.
This is a journey of remembering, re-patterning, and reclaiming your wholeness.
An ancient medicine, guided for the modern body.
Fasting is one of humanity’s oldest medicines, used across traditions for physical purification, spiritual clarity, and metabolic renewal. Long before it was a clinical protocol, it was ceremony: a way of pausing ordinary life so the body could do what it already knows how to do.
Developed and refined over a decade of clinical practice, including years spent working within exclusive rehabilitation retreats and gut health programs, the 10-Day Fast is Melly’s signature offering. A fully held, clinically guided fasting and detox experience, combining naturopathic oversight, herbal support, and intentional practice.
This is not a fad, and it is not a punishing reset. It is a rite of passage as much as it is a wellness protocol, carefully staged and paced for real, sustainable renewal of the metabolism, the gut, and the nervous system.
The 10-Day Fast is best suited to those feeling metabolically stuck, seeking a genuine physiological and energetic reset, or ready to commit to a deeper level of the work, including existing clients wanting to build on what’s already begun in consultation.
Because of the clinical intensity involved, the program isn’t appropriate for everyone. It always begins with an individual consultation to determine suitability and prepare a plan specific to your body and circumstances.
In my early thirties, I was diagnosed with a 2cm x 2cm growth in my uterus, causing severe pain. Facing surgery with the fear that it could be a tumour, I had six weeks to wait. In that time, I fasted for 17 days, took herbs traditionally used for growths, inflammation, and uterine health, and meditated daily. By the time I went in for surgery, the growth was gone.
That experience changed the course of my life. I continued to live with endometriosis pain in the years that followed, and began fasting for 10 days every six months, trusting my body’s own capacity to heal through autophagy. Slowly, over years of consistent practice, my body changed. Recent MRI scans and symptom tracking have confirmed I am now clear of endometriosis.
I still fast every six months. And I now run the FAST programs to share this work with others, whether they’re seeking general wellbeing, addressing a specific health concern, exploring it spiritually, or simply curious. This is traditional healing: rigorous, evidence-informed, and rooted in a deep trust in the body’s own intelligence.
This reflects my personal experience and is not medical advice. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before undertaking any fasting program, especially if you have an existing health condition.

Every formula in this dispensary draws on that same lineage, refined with modern clinical evidence and prepared with the same intention healers have brought to plant medicine for millennia.
